2024 Days of Christmas (1-8)

The festive season is here, and what better way to countdown to Christmas than with Wildflower Tea's 2024 Advent Calendar? This year, we’ve curated a delightful selection of 24 beautiful teas, perfect for warming your soul and sparking joy as you embrace the magic of December. Here's a sneak peek into some of the highlights waiting to be unwrapped!

This blog will capture each of our teas available in the advent calendar by day, and include ingredients, recommended brewing instructions, inspiration for the blend, and for some, an alternative method of how you can enjoy this tea! All information is merely a guide, and tea should always be made to your enjoyment.

If you would like each morning to be a surprise, please be careful with your scrolling. Without further ado, on the first day of Christmas…..

 Day 1. Choc-Mint Chai

Balancing beautiful chai spices alongside cacao nibs and peppermint, our choc-mint rooibos chai blend is the comforting flavour hit you need. With a rooibos base, this tea is caffeine free, perfect to enjoy as an after dinner treat, or at any other time of the day. We love it as an afternoon pick me up!

Ingredients: Red rooibos tea, cacao nibs, peppermint, nutmeg, cardamom, whole cloves, cassia cinnamon chips, ginger, black pepper & star anise.

Recommended Brewing Instructions

1tsp of leaves / 250mL of 100°C water.

Brew for 3 minutes, remove leaves.

Add milk to taste, or enjoy as is.

Day 2. Tropical Green

Green tea sprinkled with pineapple pieces and mallow flowers leads to a tropical flavour perfect for imagining yourself on a beach, brewed hot and enjoyed straight away, or chilled for a refreshing drink at any time of the day.

Note: This is my absolute go-to tea, I drink atleast one mug of Tropical Green every morning, and always recommend this blend.

Ingredients: Green tea, pineapple pieces & mallow petals

Recommended Brewing Instructions

1 tsp of leaves / 250mL of 80° water.

Brew for 2 minutes.

Remove leaves and enjoy

If desired, chilled, remove the leaves first and leave in the fridge.

Day 3. Sangria

Perfect for an afternoon sip with a plate of nibbles, I recommend pre-brewing this tea and leaving it to cool in the fridge during the day. With a beautiful deep, wine red colour this tea is the perfect mocktail to get you in the Christmas spirit.

Day 4. Black Forest

An old favourite here at Wildflower, inspired by Grandma's Black Forest cake, baked each year for the family Christmas lunch and served with plenty of cream. The nostalgia is high for us in this tea, and it invokes feelings of warmth, family, and a very full stomach. Subtle chocolate, cherry and cream flavours feature in this sweeter black tea. Perfect for an after dinner brew or as an afternoon pick me up. Add a splash of your favourite milk to open these flavours up.

Ingredients: Black tea, pomegranate, cherry stems, moringa, cocoa beans, cranberry, cornflower petals & safflower petals.

Recommended Brewing Instructions

1 tsp of leaves / 250mL of 100°C water.

Day 5. Golden Sunrise

A powerhouse of health! This tea combines the high antioxidants of green & white tea, with fruits high in Vitamin C and adds a dose of turmeric for its anti-inflammatory properties. Enjoy this tea at any time of the day for an extra dose of goodness, much needed in the craziness of December!

Note: Turmeric in tea has many beneficial properties, including boosting the immune system, helping with digestion and has high levels of antioxidants.

Ingredients: White tea, green tea, turmeric, pineapple, apple, rosehips, blackberry, mint, calendula & black pepper

The Christmas crazies are setting in, try and catch a break this Saturday with a mug of our favourite calming blend.
